Sorry to beat a :2dedhorse, lol, I've searched, talked to a few enthusiasts and found plenty of good info, but want a bit more if I decide to shell out 3500K for headers and cats. I wasted plenty of $ on my last car, Audi A4, don't wanna do that this time around.
I was looking forward to doing some mods to the car but after doing some research and running my buds modded M, I'm a bit skeptical, not sure if the gains are worth the $. I own a 05 ZCP completely stock and BTW the car has exceeded my expectations! My buddy's M is an 04, his mods are, Carbonio intake, Eiseman x pipe and s pipes no res, pullies and shark. He was on 100 octane and I was on 91, both cars are SMG. Basically it was dead tie, we did at least 10 runs. Felt bad for him after spending all that money and time on his car, he took well though. Has anyone done before and after runs of their car stock, then modded, against another M? Any bolt on mods, intake, headers, chip, etc. What were the results? Lee Mathews is running in the 12's with the stock headers I know he has more driving skills than any of us and he's 6mt, but there was a stock ZCP SMG car that ran a 13.052, that shows the stock header/cat setup is damn good. A few others showed better trap speeds and times with the headers, so maybe they're worth it. I'm wondering what Lee would run with headers and no cats. Still can't make up my mind any comments or advice would be appreciated. ![]() |

From what I've read and heard the Header/Cat setup is going to be the most noticable of all the bolt-on mods short of a Supercharger (and maybe tied with a 4.10 diff)

Subscribing for curiousity sake......but I would think (not fact) gears will make the most difference on a NA car.

Folks:
Short of forced induction which I don't care for: 1. Lightweight Flywheel with associated clutch - if street keep >13 pounds 2. Diff lowering 4,1 at least 3. Headers/cams best to do both together! Oh yeah, don't forget to dump the CDV!
