Default Differences of Jet Black and Carbon Black Metallic???

I was just wondering what the differences are between these two colors, besides the obvious slight difference in hue. I just found it interesting that many people on this website prefer the Carbon Black Metallic over the Jet Black while I prefer the Jet Black because I go for the deepest black I can get when purchasing a sports car. Give me your opinions...

thanks

I have a jet black/black M3 and I love the color, it looks awesome when clean but its a pain to keep that way. My theory why people prefer carbon black is that it is an M3 exclusive color, you can't get it on any garden variety 3 or 5-series car, so that makes it rare relative to all the BMW's out there. Jet black is an option for most all other BMW cars. Can't go wrong with either color, though

With CBN black, it's almost impossible to tell that it has a blue hue when it's in the shade. But when it's in the sun, you can see the midnight blue metallic color show through. I think it looks gorgeous, way more sophisticated than Jet black, but JB is a great color too. If you like blue and black, then CBN is a great color.

Jet Black - Non-metallic, "flat" glossy deep, pure black. Looks black in bright sunlight.

Carbon Black - Metallic, subtle color-shifting deep indigo/black with the usual metallic properties. Shows substantial navy-violet hues in bright sunlight.

Both are exceptional for different reasons, and both are a bit of a chore to maintain in top condition (simply because they are so dark).

There are a few colors which have generally been known as "///M only" colors; among them, Daytona Violet, Avus Blau, and now, Carbon Black. They may be used on other ///M cars, but will not be found on rank-and-file BMWs unless the Individual program was involved.

Should've gone for some exclusive ///M color instead of silver
